talent: helps raise the stars every night, runs a mane salon in the day

personality: kind of fancy, high class, very social, loves attention, sort of snooty at first, but nice when you get to know her.

bio: cosmos is a pegasus born in ponyville. she has a sister named diamond dust, but they don't speak often. diamond and cosmos pretty much despise eachother, but their interests both lie in space and the night sky. cosmos runs a mane salon in canterlot and loves helping ponies "become as pretty as she is". she also loves decorating and putting things in a neat, tidy order. despite those talents, her true talent is being able to help raise the stars every night. she loves them because they're bright, shiny, and beautiful, "just like her".

backstory: cosmos and her sister diamond dust were born to a pegasus father and a unicorn mother, but the father left soon after birth. the mother was stuck with both fillies and raised them in ponyville because she couldn't fly. diamond and cosmos took flying lessons from a local retired wonderbolt, but diamond was always better at flying, and often made fun of cosmos and called her an earth pony. when they were older, cosmos left for canterlot, and diamond stayed in ponyville. when cosmos first arrived, she doubted that she would make it, and almost went back. but a local mare found the filly wandering the streets and took her in. the mare owned a mane salon and she taught cosmos how to deal with manes. when cosmos was older, the mare died, and cosmos was left to run the salon. every night after work, she would go on the roof and remember what the mare had once told her, "the stars are where we go when we pass, and one day, i will be up there, and you will see me shine every night. but that day isn't today, and besides, we have work tomorrow!" cosmos wondered what raised the stars, and when she found out a team of volunteers coordinated by princess luna did it, cosmos joined. she is said to be the best one there, despite her lack of flight practice.
